The Old Station Fly-in is held near Gladstone and is a must-attend event. We flew up on June 9 and camped overnight. The were 7000 people - mainly locals - for the airshow on the Sunday. Macca did a live broadcast in the morning on the ABC, and Dick Smith flew his Cessna Caravan in for the weekend. The next one is in 2009, and we expect to be there again.

I received an invitation to attend Europe's biggest general & recreational air expo - the 2007 AERO expo at Friedrichshafen, Germany in April. This was indeed a thrill as Chris would come with me and the organisors would pick up the tab for the hire car, accommodation and one of the airfares. We flew into Frankfurt, then drove 4 hours to Meersburg, which is near Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance. We attended the Expo most days, but got in some sight-seeing and met up with Colin and Sandra - new neighbours at the Airpark, but currently living in England. Southern Germany is a beautiful place, and we hope to go back for AERO 2009.
