Well, here we are only three days away from the big move. Yes folks, Friday we will set off at the break of day on our epic journey to the big banana.
Just to give you a perspective of the magnitude of this move, the Verada will be fully loaded with two dogs, two humans, clothing for a week, followed closely behind by a trailer with the beloved Buell. Sadly, the SV1000S, is up for sale, so if anyone is interested, go see Mike Hone Motorcycles in Ringwood:-). The trailer will probably represent something like a small atom bomb, with everything explosive, caustic, pressurised and toxic on board.
The double garage is currently stacked floor to ceiling with probably around 200 various sized boxes, machinery, tool chests, bicycles (3) and it goes on and on. This is after a huge clear out and some $5600 later with sales on ebay to finance the move.
Our trip will probably take three days given the doggies will want to get out of the car at more frequent intervals than we will need to, however, we are all looking forward to the trip and enjoying the journey as best we can.
Baby (to those who don't know is the MX5), is going via rail and will be there on Monday to pickup, and will be spared the wear and tear of the long trip.
The house is sold thankfully, so we don't have to make the horrible decisions that were looking likely only a week ago.
Leaving Melbourne is very bitter sweet, as we are leaving behind many friends, 40+ of whom attended a get-to-gether on Sunday at Frankston Pier (Sofia's) for our farewell. It was so so lovely to see everyone together, and from such a diverse backgrounds, makes you realise how special they all are. Unfortunately, Marty's brother Mick and Marty's daughter Jess were unable to come due to other commitments, but were very much missed.
I'm now regretting not having the camera with us on the day.
So, expect some more pics shortly once we get settled.
Goodbyeeeeeee cold old Melbourne!!!!
